Dr Nida Chenagtsang was born into a nomad family in Amdo, Tibet.
Interested in the traditional medicine of his people, Dr Nida began his early medical traiing at the local Traditional Tibetan Medicine hospital, later her gained scholarship entry to the Lhasa Tibetan Medical University and completed his training 1996. Dr Nida gained his practical training at the Traditional Tibetan Medicine Hospitals in Lhassa (Lhassa Mentseekhang) and Lhoka.
Early in his career he published a number of articles and several books on Traditional Tibetan Medicine, and has extensively researched ancient Tibetan medical treatments, specialising the in revival of the external therapies; which has bough him high acclaim in the field of Tibetan medicine. He has since gone on to found his own publishing house SKY Press and continues to publish books of great importance to the world of Tibetan Medicine and its spiritual tradition of the Yuthok Nyingthik.
Dr Nida is co-founder of the International Ngak-Mang Institutes, established to preserve and maintain the Rebkong Nagkpa culture within modern Tibetan society.
IN 2006 he founded the International Academy for Traditional Tibetan Medicine in order to ensure the integrity and authenticity of Traditional Tibetan Medicine teachings and to promote continuity of practice of Traditional Tibetan Medicine. The association has recently become a foundation and has been rebranded Sorig Khang International.
Dr Nida teaches all over the world, fluent in English he is an experienced and knowledgeable communicator with a sophisticated ability to teach the subtleties of of these traditional modalities to western students. We are always overjoyed when he visits us here in Australia, and are so grateful for his kindness and dedication.
I have been very fortunate to have met Dr Nida, and studied with him since 2005.
I regard him as my heart teacher.
