In my garden … the ginkgo always bursts forth with abandon, “it’s spring and I am awake!”
Ginkgo biloba is an ancient plant that still graces our planet, sometimes referred to as a dinosaur plant, yes it’s that old. It is the only living species in the division Ginkgophyta, all others being extinct. It is found in fossils dating back 270 million years.
Very useful for conditions related to sluggish or impaired circulation. When the leaves turn gold, that’s when I harvest and prepare a tincture.
And it is a most beautiful specimen tree, lovely green in the spring and then amazing gold come autumn.
